Yep! Milk works, usually.

BTW, thanks for asking your question in terms of the second-person. SO many others tend to ask in terms of FIRST-person, and listening to people say, "I think this...," or, "I think that...," gets very tiresome after a short while.

Burning Your Mouth

Hello:

Eating a piece of bread or drinking a glass of milk will help to keep your mouth from burning after you have eaten something that is really spicy!

I've heard that eating sugar helps more than drinking milk, but I've never tried it myself.

One thing I do know - cold water or beer or any other cold water-based beverage will not help, it'll just wash the spiciness around your mouth and distribute the burning sensation. I speak from experience.

Eat some bread and drink milk, simple.
If that doesn't work than try glazing your mouth in a bit of olive oil.

I've got a sure fired way that really works.
About a half teaspoon of creamy peanut butter! Creamy is better than crunchy and regular is better than low fat....It's the fat in the peanut butter that does the trick.
This is almost a guarantee.
