omg just reading the reponses made me laugh.
your running a cross country race its LONG DISTANCE. Your going to need carbs no matter what the top contributor says. carbs are your energy without energy running sucks. tomorrow morning, eat three hours before your race. 30 minutes before your race you should drink a max of 2 cups of water and an eighth of a bagel do not overload and try to eat a little meat. before your race you should have a 4 to 1 carbs to protein ratio. carbs energy and protein to keep the musckes strong. also eat a banana or kiwi to get potassium. cramps are lactic acid build to counter affect that you should eat something with potassium.

If the race is not until tomorrow, you will be fine, but don't eat within a couple of hours of the event.
The reason why people throw up during vigorous exercise is nearly always due to eating too near to the time. The stomach needs a large supply of blood when processing food, and when you exercise, this blood is diverted to meet the demands of the muscles. The stomach then rejects its contents.
Bananas give a good boost of natural sugars and carbs, taken a couple of hours before a run.

It is not a good idea to eat a lot before you run, especially meat or dairy.
A cross country race is not a long distance race, you do not need to carbo load, you are not going to run out of energy during the race.
Be careful when and what you eat before a race, it can come back up or make you sick during the race.
Eat normally, don't do anything different.

Not exactly just do not eat big the day of the race and drink a lot of water. Eat a light breakfest like toast but try to avoid milk.
