Someone who could sing with amazing range and had the thickest accent or oddest voice when they were interviewed.
Exhibit A: would be someone like Cindy Lauper, powerful singing voice and a classic New Yorker accent. What examples can you think of?

keith urban has an austrailian accent when he talks, but when he sings you can't hear it. also hugh laurie (i know he doesn't sing, but whatever) has a heavy british accent but takes it off really well for 'house'

Fantasia ( American Idol). Early on, JLo had a very thick bronx accent. but it's not so noticeable now. The Beatles had British accents but not when they were singing. Same with the Stones.

Claudio Sanchez, the lead singer of Coheed and Cambria, has a rather varying range when he sings, but when he talks, has a very normal, deep tone for a man.

I wasn't around in the 70's so I never heard them in an interview, but I'm willing to bet the BeeGees didn't speak as high pitched as they sang! Always amazes me that a man can get his voice that high..
