When we pray for an answer to something. When we ask God to show us what we need to do. How do we know for sure it is God's answer? Can we be sure it is God's will and not our desires?

When you pray amiss, you do not receive answers, but when you pray spiritually, you will receive exactly what you need to know, when you need to know it, and there will be no mistaking it for coincidence. Many times people pray regarding their human plan, and as we all have heard, this makes God laugh. We need to pray for His will to be received by us, and then we move forward.

Well are you praying for something that only benefits you, or you praying for something that could be for your purpose. If you are only praying for your benefit you, then it is real easy for self to get in the way.But if it is for God's purpose for you, then you will know when He answers you. Never have your own agenda when you are trying to do God's work.

God placed His own Word as the Highest authority, even above His own name:

Psalms 138:2:
"...for thou has magnified thy word above all thy name."

Therefore all answers in prayer must not contradict the Bible. For example one atheist asked a couple of hours ago if we would kill an atheist if God told us.

Thus if we hear such a voice, we must take it to the Bible. The Bible tells us the weopons of our warfare are not physical and those we do fight are not people but demons.

It's a wishful assumption. Thinking that the answer comes from God gives people more confidence in the answer and people like to feel confident in what they think and do.

I love questions like this... you don't know if it is god because no one is giving you a direct call from the almighty.... the normal answer to a prayer is when you apply what you believe to what you worship... if you worship the bible than you apply it to that.. if you worship Gaia than you apply the laws that you believe in... if it goes with that, it is the answer..

That's why it is necessary to famalrize yourself with God's word (and learn to spell). If anything is contrary to His word it's not from Him.
