Buick LeSabre type cars of the mid 90's get arounf 30 mpg on the highway. 3.8 liter V-6 is around 200 HP and supercharged ones are even more powerful. Newer model VW Passat diesels are great on mileage and roomy.
Try looking at Fueleconomy.gov for stats on various models although real life driving mpg will be somewhat lower.

ford escort or chevy cavalier, if you like foreign try honda or volkswagen, toyota isn't bad either. My preference though-VW's they have great horsepower, good mileage and run forever. I'm in Ohio and the gas prices aren't any better we're at 3 a gallon now.

hondas are great for gas mileage. a 4 cylinder import would be the best bet. as far as horsepower in the 200 range probably not gonna happen
