Yes, you would acquire a slight british accent, but you wouldn't loose your american accent either, you would more or less have a combination of the both.

I'd say it would take at least a year or more.

theres no such thing as a british accent, or a english accent, there is hundreds of different accents all over the uk. i live in the south of england and have a southern accent but people who live in london which is only 60 miles away have a totally different accent

It really depends on the upbringing of the person. I moved around as a kid, my Father worked for a company that transferred a lot. Because of that I never really got an accent. Since then I joined the military and again have been moving ever since...no accent.

My aunt moved to Washington state several years ago and no longer has any trace of a Texas accent so I imagine the same thing would happen where ever a person moves to. One just picks up the local dialect without thinking about it is my guess.

what the fudge is a british accent!!! You may start to get a slight English accent, but there is no such thing as a british accent.

Maybe. When I went to boot camp in another State I developed their accent in about a month.

it depends how long you live in this country for.
but over time the english accent will start to adapt!

Might take a while, but these things can rub off on you quicker. I went to Jersey for vacation and was talking strangely for a couple weeks afterwards.
