My grandparents joined the Mormon faith late in their life. They were two of the best people I've ever known, or probably will ever know in this life. They were very open and shared their feelings about their faith with me. They answered any questions I asked thoroughly and without hesitation. On many occasions I attended church functions with them. I accompanied them to the Mormon Tabernacle, in Salt Lake City, Utah, several times. Everywhere I went, the parishioners were always friendly, generous, and compassionate. They were a loving group and I admired greatly how they raised their children and the kindness they showed in caring for one another. It was apparent that they were a gracious, caring, and loving people! I still greatly admire them and their faith. I was raised as a Lutheran!

Mormons are part of Utah. Utah is named after the word "ute" which means high place. Mormons aren't that bad to me. The were the first in Utah actually. Mormons actually still live in Utah. Utah is really hot too. If you go there, bring clothes that keep you cool. Also bring a sweater or two. I like the culture in Utah. Nice you live in Utah. Utah is really nice. I have been there once o twice.

For the most part they are decent people a social structure that works for them.Yes I ve been there I understand the culture not impressed. They are a cult there belief is founded in an adaptation of the bible that is in error. Its like another world if you don't believe what they believe I cant get there as there leader was a nut job and created this religion for his benefit and his associates he needed others to cooperate with him to make it work and they benefited also. There are lots of reasons why I'm not crazy about these folks at least the ones who have been deceived and think there right. They need your prayers and to here the truth of the Gospel.

Having been born and raised mormon and lived in Utah for over 10 yrs I can tell you its a pretty state.

However, the church has issues that most members dont realize and never will because that would be too much for them to hear and want to deal with.

As far as the state itself goes, the southern half seems to be pretty ok but the northern part of the state is very cliquish and if you arent mormon you are shunned by many. Even growing up I was shunned by members of my own ward cuz I didnt live in the same cult de sac they did. VERY annoying and it continued til I moved out of state. They can be good people but they are also imperfect and very snobby to many....even "their own".

Ive never been to Utah, but I have met a few mormons and have found them very disciplined and achievement oriented people. Several of the mormon or orthodox religions seem to have a stricter moral and social charter and produce exceptional kids.

That said, Im stunned at what little i do know about the mormon history and religious doctrine.

Their family values and the way they allow participation in church leadership from the lay people seems like a good idea. The Book of Mormon gives a plausible explanation of what was happening on the other side of the world after Jesus died. Their faith has grown through their missionary work, developing individuals and gaining membership, something that not all religions do.

I'm not Mormon but I like that they are adamant about their religion, and really nice people.

The Mormons I've known are good folks. The theology seems a bit screwball to me. I don't know much about Utah except there's some pretty scenery.

what i know is from reading history of both the religion, and American history. They have many facets just like other religions. There are many non mormons who make statements that are inaccurate to say the least. I suppose I find the general foundation of the Mormons to be bizarre at the least, although most of the ones I know are generally good folks.

I've never been in Utah but by what I've seen on TV, is beautiful. In CT, I was visited quite a few times by Mormons and I have to accept that they were respectful and very nice. Even when I didn't join their church, they gave me a copy of the Book of Mormon that I keep as a treasure. I've read it and it's very interesting.

Good loving people for the most part. Mislead by Joseph Smith but I believe that that is his sin. I think they will be judged solely on their lives and if they call Jesus their savior they get in. I can't imagine the Holy Spirit ignoring the sincere prayers of a mormon on that basis. They can be judged severely by fellow mormons if they question, they can be cut off from family and friends forever so I can't blame them for staying in the fold even if they have questions.
