im 13 i live in missouri, i want to move to my dad's house, cause i hate my step-dad?

what do i need to do, or who do i need to talk to to make this happen. how old do i have to be?

in most states 13 is the age where you can decide which parent to live with, tell your mom that you want to live with your dad. tell your dad that you want to live with him. if your mom wont let you , your dad will have to file a change of custody in family court, he doesnt need a lawyer , all he does is write a paper stating that you want to live with him , file it and they set a court date and you tell the judge who you want to live with , the judge will then let you go live there if your dad is a fit parent . the easiest way is for your mom to let you go , or you just move there then your dad file the papers.

You should discuss this with your mother and father.

Will things be better at your dad's? Why do you hate your step dad? You should think about this before you do it. I have a friend who decided to do the same thing because she didnt like the rules her mother imposed. But then she went to her fathers and hated it. When she changed her mind and wanted to go back, her mother made her stay with her father for 2 more miserable weeks before she would go get her.

i see no reason why you can't just pack up your things and move in with your dad. as long as he is up for this. just go, i would.
