I am not a big drinker per say, but I do like a drink, however, if I open a bottle of wine I will always finish the bottle, If I open a bottle of whisky 70cl I can drink half to 3/4 and feel "merry". everyone says I never look drunk and it does take an awefull lot to get me drunk. I am finding this bloody expensive!

Everyone should know that it isn't just your liver that can be damaged from excessive drinking. My best friend just died on October 16th from Chronic Pancreatitis...it took him from us in less than two days. He drank a half a fifth of Vodka a day. No warning. Just GONE! Do some research. It's been a real 'eye opener' for all of us. Please be careful. Life IS worth living.

I have the same exact problem. I once drank an 750ml bottle of vodka and felt only slightly dizzy. (And that went away after a few minutes). What I found helps is:

1) drink a large amount kind of quickly (not a dangerous amount, but a couple of shots or glasses of wine) and then drink smaller amounts for the rest of the night.

2) I don't know about whiskey, but I started trying triple distilled vodka, and that once got me crazy drunk after having 1/4 a liter.

or
3) Try drinking carbonated beverages. I don't mean beer, but try mixing your liquer with soda pop. There is a drink called Sparks that is an alcoholic energy drink that kicks in really fast. The downside is that the alcohol wears off after an hour or so, but the energy drink part stays with you for awhile after.

Hope that helps. But be careful with it. After getting drunk on that 1/4 liter of vodka, now when I get drunk I have to drink closer to 1/2 a liter to feel an effect. So just keep in mind that just because you arn't feeling the effect doesn't mean your liver isn't feeling it.

That's why...you have built up a tolerance.

That is the first step to becoming an alcoholic. It is not good to be able to "hold your liquor"...it means you drink so much that your body is used to it now, and needs more to get the same effect.

Before my mom died, she was drinking 2 fifths of whiskey a day and was pretty much sober.

Now is the time to stop yourself completely and stay away from alcohol.

She could have a very undesirable urine song an infection or something so i could get her to an emergency vet ASAP. my canine could drink a splash bit water and then bypass outdoors and urinate a splash all over the backyard for like fifteen minutes!

This is good that no one has to carry you afterwards. But it is not good for you. You can have the side effects later in your life. You are damaging your organs. Be careful

Perhaps your tolerance is getting higher and you need more and more to get drunk. Watch that, it's a slippery slope x
