I own an '07 Nissan Altima Hybrid (sedan) and it is amazingly low-maintenance.
Advantages the Altima Hybrid has over regular cars (including regular Altimas):
- No brake pad change until after 100,000 miles (it uses regenerative braking most of the time).
- Change tranny fluid every 60,000 miles (its tranny is nearly indestructible-- it has just a single gearset, no gear-shifting, no CVT belts unlike other Nissans).
- Change motor oil every 7,500 miles. (the gasoline engine isn't turning all the time the car's running).
- Will never have starter solenoid / motor issues (it doesn't have those things).
- Will never need to have a timing belt changed (it doesn't have one).
- Will never have alternator troubles (it doesn't have one).
- 8-year / 100,000 mile warranty on the hybrid system (including the traction battery pack). Nissan will replace it for free if it develops problems within 8 years.
I love my Altima Hybrid. If you think the reliability of the regular Altima is good (and it is), the Altima Hybrid is even better.

people say the altima coupe is a cheap mans g35. the reason for that is because the altima is FWD. think about having 270 rampaging horsepower being sent to the front wheels, and also telling it to do the steering as well. The only thing that will do is cause understeer, understeer, and more understeer. btw, this is looking at it in terms of performance. but interms of reliability, well it will definitely last you a long time.

nissan altimas have a rep of being pretty reliable cars in general. my older sis bought hers brand new in 95 and she gave it to my mom in 2000 and then my mom gave it to my other sister in 2005 and its still kicking with very lil repairs. plus my mom and the 2nd sister run cars down to the ground so if it can survive them they can survive anything
now the coupe just came out a few months ago and the new models came out about a year ago so as far as telling how reliable they would be in the long run is hard to say but previous models show they are good cars
