It's bc the PS3 is too expensive and it doesn't really have any great games. The GTA's and RE's, etc etc, make it great but, without those games the PS3 is not worth having.

You know what, it's funny that the Xbox had slightly better graphics than the PS2 and better processing power, but the PS2 had better games and the PS2 was still the better console.
Now the tables are turned and the PS3 has more power, and by early to mid 2008, the PS3 will have the best lineup of exclusive games and the PS3 will regain the position on top in a few years.
And why do you say that Sony has already lost with the PS3 when the PS3 hasn't even been out a year yet? The PS3 has already sold half of what the Xbox 360 has sold in under one year, I think that the PS3 is doing fine.
Considering the fact that the PS2 sold over 100 million consoles and the Original Xbox sold only a little over 20 million consoles, I think that the Sony consoles will always be more popular and the Sony consoles will always remain at the top. And the PS2 only had a 1 year head start against the Xbox and the Xbox didn't sell anywhere near as many consoles as the PS2.
Even though Sony isn't at the top now with the PS3, just wait in about 3 - 4 years from now.

You're jumping to conclusions.
First off, the war is not 1 or 2 years. It's more like a 4 or 5 year battle. The 360 came out 1 year before the PS3, so of course it's going to have more consoles sold than the PS3.
Second, the PS3 is doing extremely well for a console that at one point costs 600 bucks and had less than 10 good games for about 3/4 of the year.
Third, the PS3 will sell about 7 or 8 million in its first year. According to wiki, the PS3 has sold 5.6 million as of Sept. 30, 2007. Extrapolate that to Nov. 30th, and the sales will be about 6 to 7 million depending on how well the 40 gb is received by gamers. Extrapolate that into 2 years, and that comes to about 14 to 16 million. That's about how much the 360 has sold in 2 years.
So, what's the lesson to be learned here? The war is 4 or 5 years. The 360 came out before the PS3, so you can't use the 360's total sales to say that it's doing better than the PS3.

PS3 repeats the steps of PS2. In the beginning everybody thought that PS2 is a bad console, it'll lose, but look at PS2 sales now. Cheper 40GB shoul boost sales. As well as 300 upcoming games and a couple of interesting projects (Folding Home helps sick people, upcoming Home is a very interesting concept of virtual world).

Sorry, but i can't fathom how, less than a year into its cycle and selling as well as the 360 did at the same point in its cycle did with no competition, you can draw that conclusion.
The Wii is a phenomenal success, but the PS3 is more than holding its own.

In the UK, it lost because British consumers are finally getting sick of companies like Sony thinking they can charge up to £100 more for a console than they do in the US and Japan. British folk are sick of living in Rip-Off Britain and the Nintendo Wii is, at least, priced slightly more reasonably.

The PS3 is just too expensive for most. But just this week, PS3 has brought back the 40G console and it's for sale for $399. This should increase sales.
