I'm looking for REAL answers. Before my dad passed away in January, we agreed that if there were ways to communicate after death, he would find a way. Since then, the following has happened:
1) My daughter was walking into her new school with an attitude. She said that morning she heard my dad say, "Straighten up, kid!" She didn't see him often but this was his vernacular. It made her change her attitude, right away.
2) When she was alone in the car the other day she saw him standing next to it and peering in at her.
3) We've had many incidents of the radio tuning in certain songs all by it's self and the car door locks flipping up and down; I don't have a short.
4) She's seen him twice in out house, screamed bloody murder.
5) I didn't believe all this until I SWEAR I saw him a week ago. When I asked her to describe him, he looked exactly the same as my sighting. Blue shirt, etc.
6) At his funeral a friend is still talking about seeing him there.

This has happened without reprieve. The priest told me that it was not my father, but that people who have these experiences do have profound experiences, although they are not the dead. It's another type of entity. I didn't have room in my question, but I've seen him driving his car, looking at me, etc. It's not that I'm wanting to see these things and letting my mind see them. It's effecting my child, too. She was never afraid of my dad and is not the type to conjour her own imagination. I'm looking for answers with similar experiences and/or explanations.

Bill W, that's funny because that was my father's first name...last initial W. Anyway, the little girl isn't my sister; she's my little girl. Who barely knew dad. I actually saw him first, then it was Sarah who saw him. I listed the incidents in the wrong order, I guess. Believe me, guys. If I could have recorded it I'd have done it. I'm a grown-up law student and there's no propensity for my asking this, save that I am genuinely interested. And concerned. My ex and I had a "presence" in our old house but I never put much stock in it until NOW.

darling...
biblically we are told that the dead are dead and know nothing and sleep till judgement day
this is why your priest says it was not him
there is believed to be what is called familiar spirits.... these are demon type beings who would follow someone in life and mimic them in death , in the hope that it will lead them away from God

ok I have told you about Christian beliefs as I assume you are Catholic , speaking about your priest
all I can say is , I have had so many experiences and they have all been wonderful , loving experiences ... experiences that have actually led me to believing in God again
so what I am told about spirits from Christians , does not make any sense to me in any way
we live on after death , our love for our family lives on ...
why would dad not want to come and see you and make sure you are ok
much love to you xx

very interesting, I'm a believer but am also a skeptic. I do not know much about it, and to tell you the truth, it's not a paranormal activity. The mind seems to be a reason. I am not saying it's not for real, but like the radio, you said it was tuning to other stations.Ihink that can happen by the car itself, or the locks itself may react to technical reason. You can ask a car mechanic or something.

As for your daughter, did you tell about her grandfather? I bet she has seen his picture right? It is possible, that people thinks hard on something and becomes real to us. Either that of your daughter is just going for attention. I'M NOT CALLING HER A LIAR! the thing is, you do not know if she saw was for real. When those who passes away, we tend to remember them a lot, and believe to be seeing them. that may be with your daughter, or not.

Harry Houdini promised the same thing to his wife before he died. he put something in an envelope, something written that he told no one about... and only his wife knew. He said that she would know if it was him and that what he had written would verify it was him.
She went to seances with different mediums... etc etc... and although the hoaxsters tried... they could never verify that the spirit's contacted, were Harry. I don't buy that the dead can come back. I have a different theory on that which is not relevent for writing here.. but I do believe there are paranormal events / beings.

I'm not an expert in dealing with ghosts or supernatural spirits, but what I have heard is that is a spirit wants to hang on it will. I was raised Catholic, and we were taught about pergatory so that's what I parallel it to. You have to find someway to get a message to him to move on to the other side. That it's ok and that you and your daughter will be fine. Some people do hallucinate, however with the details of your experience, I would say that He's hanging on for you guys. Get in touch with a good mediator in your area and ask for advice. It could be as simple as the two of you talking to his spirit. Have faith in God alone that he would not allow harm to come to you or your daughter, and that will give you what you need to let your father rest in peace. Good luck to you and God Bless!!

oh hi! i am quite familiar with your queries about ghosts/spirits especially here in our country, we are very particular when it comes to spirits/ghosts, in our tradition as Filipinos we believed in ghost especially if a member of a family passed away and before he/she passed, this person has a good relationship with a member of family, we believed that if something unusual happens this person who is already dead is the one responsible for the unusual things that are happening in our surroundings and in addition to that we also believed this person who is already dead is trying to figure out something, that is why he is showing up and making you guys feel that he is still around watching, why not speak up if you "see" him and tell him if there are something he still wants you guys to know. Don't be afraid if you believed that it was your dad's spirit that is showing up talk to him.

Funny how people talk about this kind of freaky thing all the time, but never, and I do mean never, ever record it. Ever. Ever. My girlfriend has had a similar incident allegedly happen to her and I'm certainly not calling her a liar, but what the hell? If you're going to make claims about this kind of weird occurrence, everyone will think you're crazy if you have no intention on backing any of it up. I was even freaked out by my girlfriend when she told me these similar events.

I have seen unusual things like you describe, but, as much as I do believe, I have no explainations, just speculation. All of it seems to be positive in its own way, nothing dark or threatening, after all, if my dad showed up, I wouldn't scream, I'd be thrilled! My best to you.

1) She didn't hear him, she THOUGHT she did. If this was a common occurrence, we'd all have heard dead relatives talk to us - I'm not raining on your parade but this is not a universal thing.
2) Your sister, again - Traumatic experiences will often causes one to have such delusions. Again, I'm not being mean, I'm being realistic
3) This I would have to see and what message would that be?
4) Again, your sister. No one else but her and 4 points already.
5) You now want to see him
6) He isn't seeing him. He wants to see him and what we want to see, we think we do.

This is all very explained and document in psychological journals and the like - you can continue to ignore such behaviour as psychological and pretend it IS a ghost or you can face reality - your father has passed away and has either gone to heaven or new a life. As a Buddhist, I would say a new life.

I have had some experiences since my husband died 6 years ago. I think it is beautiful, knowing that love doesn't die.

Stop freaking yourself out. You probably are seeing him. Whether its a ghost or not is the question. And its nothing more than a ghost, even if it is a ghost. You're scaring yourself over nothing. Even your religious leader has told you that its a ghost. So stop it. If you want him to leave you alone, try talking to him and asking him to leave you alone.
