My daughter has just bought a cuddly dog soft toy. It is a yellow colour and she can't decide whether to call it Mustard, or Custard? What do you think please? Any other ideas maybe. Please give me child-friendly answers thanks

Wow! I have a dog too, a puppy actually. And it didn't quite take much time to christen her "Sabrina" -- no reason. Okay, you didn't say the gender of the dog so that limits suggestions to gender-free names. Can;t think of anything but I guess a 2 to 3 syllable name has enough rhythm which will come in handy when you begin training the dog. Hmmm....Custard or Mustard? If those were the only 2 names, I'd vote for Custard.

How about plain, old, simple "Buddy?"

I like Mustard better. It's a more common word and if you ever get a second pet, it would be easy to continue the tradition and get Ketchup (or Catsup if a feline!) or Relish. Plus, think of all the hot dog jokes! ;-)

Custard definitely. I don't know anyone who doesn't like it, whereas with Mustard you either love it or hate it. x

Helen either would be a very nice name for your daughter's new stuffed animal. I remember many, many years ago my grandmother bought me a cocker spaniel that sounded like it was around the same colour and I called it Chips. Thanks for the memories.
