It can't be the way i'm sleeping because i've been sleeping this way. In fact there is nothing new i've been doing. Last time this happened my Dr. gave me a Rx for muscle relaxer which did nothing at all.

What you need to do is entirely dependent on what kind of pain it is. For example, if it's a sharp, burning pain that tends to radiate down your arms, spine, neck, etc, then it might be a nerve pain. In that case, you would need to take medication specifically for nerve pain, as no other medication is going to help with it.

What you really should do is get some x-rays and MRI's done of the area to find out if there is a cause for the pain. It could be a bulging disk, pinched nerve, spondylosis (athritis), etc; or it could just be your posture or the amount of time you sit at a computer. It's important to find out what is causing the pain so you (and your doctor) know how to proceed.

Then you need to get a stronger muscle relaxer because it is being caused by tension and spasms. Been there, done that.

Have you tried a chiropractor. Some people don't believe in them. I go to mine religiously due to my job. It would be worth a try
