No it is not and heres why..
Tomatoes contain a poisonous alkaloid which causes violent gastro problems for kitties. Even one small salad tomato can make your kitty friend very ill.

Ive written an article about some other things that cats shouldnt eat as well. You might like to check it out.

I've seen cats eat a variety of different things, including fruits and vegetables. I have no reason to believe that tomatoes are bad for them, but if in doubt, give him/her just a little at a time, and if she gets sick, you should stop. But if not, if he/she likes it, then why not? Just don't overwhelm him/her with tomatoes!! :)

I did read that green, raw tomatoes are the ones that can be harmful to cats. But who buys green tomatoes anyways?

We had a cat who was taking bites out of the ripe tomatoes in the garden, when I was a kid. My folks thought it was the woodchuck, but I watched her do it a few times. She was ok with it. Ours do like spagetti sauce and it's never made them sick, but it's not something they should probably have on a regular basis.

The leaves and stems of tomatoes are highly toxic (plant in the nightshade family like onion).

Cooked tomatoes or just the fruit might be OK. Personally I would just stay away from them for cats.

our cat has eaten tomatoes since he was kitten. he seems to think all toms belong to him. He can be asleep and hear you eating a tom and come running for his share of the tom.
