I live very close to the WLW tower in Mason Ohio which was built to put out enough signal to circle the globe back in World War II days. They have cut the strength since, but it is still strong enough that I can listen to any of their raido programs by just picking up my phone. I can use my cell without any interuptions...but I would rather not run my minutes up when I pay for a home phone aswell. The phone company seems to have no answers for me. Has anyone ever overcome this problem or am I screwed?

You can purchase or make an 'RF filter' for your line that will keep that radio station out.! It consists of a few chokes and capacitors, and just plugs in series with your line. Also a poor telephone wire connection, either corroded or loose will cause 'rectification', acting just like a little 'crystal set', and will pick up local radio transmissions..(AM) If all your neighbors were having this problem, it would have been addressed long ago.

I know exactly what you talking about. When I was at my dad's house, one of the neighbors across the street was boasting about having 10,000 watts of power through his little so called radio station that was illegal. We could hear the station through our computer speakers.

Basically your going to have to contact the FCC because they are not following regulations.

Good luck.

Someone has given you the link to complain. Cooking foil will act as a screen and stop the radio waves - you will have to experiment to find out where to put it. If the phone cable isn't screened ask the phone company if they can install a screened cable.

Use this link to file a general complaint with the Federal Communications Commission http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html
There are five ways to file: online form, postal mail, e-mail, phone and FAX.

Find out the call letters and physical station location, tell them the problem. They will beat you back to your house to fix it before the FCC gets word.
