I understand thet it is to cover their heads but you there must be a reason

Male Jews wear a yamika for the same reason male Muslims wear a kufi (or a kofi).
Insha'Allah, we cover our heads in humility before God recognizing that He is the All Powerful, the Creator and He Who Sustains of all of His creation while we are but a small part of the same.

I don't know, but like you I'd like to know why they have to cover their heads. I know that in some Eastern philosophies, covering of the head occurs in the "meditation room". They say this is because the power is so great in there and it can cause harm. lol I walked into such a room without my head covered. It was hilarious. People were crowded around the door and they were scared for me. They didn't understand when I left the room unscathed.
