because you were shy, you didn't want to screw anything up for yourself. now go talk to her and try and restore what you think you have lost. if she asked you to dance doesn't that almost always mean she likes you? go for it right now before she finds another guy. this should be very easy if you like her enough to not be afraid. GO FOR IT!

This is normal. You were nervous.
But now she is probly hurt. If you don't have the guts to talk to her, then slip her a note that simply says, "I didn't want to say no, I should have said yes"
Dont let this just slip past if you really like her.
