I've always said that if it wasn't for the fact that I am so modest,I would probably be perfect.

Here is an uncomfortable truth... 10% of this world leads the remaining 90%. To be in that 10%, you need a lot of self-confidence, and a little bit of arrogance (mainly to deal with the naysayers) but you have to have it.

Arrogance is many things, but mostly it's thinking you are somehow intrinsically better than the next person. Look at George Bush. He was supremely arrogant when it came to his belief that it was right for Americans to invade Iraq. He got most Americans to temporarily share in his arrogance - to think we were somehow intrinsically better than Iraqis. I'm not sure if pride or vanity alone truly cover it. I'd describe this sort of arrogance as insanity.

Depends on the area of my life - my work it certainly does but then I have reason for it and I wouldn't have climbed the ladder as I have without it. In my personal life it doesn't because outside of work I tend to defer to others more than when I'm at work.

Pride or vanity, well I don't think it's vanity, pride perhaps but I don't think that is applicable to every person.. sometimes arrogance is just arrogance without a reason.

There is a very thin line between self-confidence and arrogance. Sometimes, it's hard to tell whether someone's being confident or arrogant. And I think arrogance is a bit of both pride and vanity.

Not very close, I'm not overly confident I don't think. Sometimes I can't even seem to find a shred of confidence. I think arrogance is pride--arrogance is one of the traits I most detest in people.

To me,self confidence is humbly walking in quite assurance in the light, knowlege and giftings that you have been granted,by grace. I believe that self confidence practiced as such, describes meekness(self confidence and power under control). Arrogance, is both an internal as well as external boast of self confidence, that is rooted in sinful pride.(Arrogance is an ugly and often times, angry manifestation of egotistical pride).

I have self confidence, but I don't advertise it, arrogance is pride AND vanity, pride is emotional arrogance, vanity is physical arrogance

Not even close. I tend to view others as better than I am.
I do not have a great deal of self-confidence in some areas.

I'm rarely even self confident. I don't think there are many opportunities for me to be arrogant.

I think I'm arrogant, and have always been labeled as such, but I'm OK with that. I think I'm self-aware enough to realize when to be arrogant, and when not to be.
