Ok..Me and my bf just started going out yesterday. We have liked eachother for a while but were kind of afraid to go out with eachother. Our highschool isn't exactly the most accepting school for interracial relationships. Plus, my older brother who is very protective of me isn't very accepting so I haven't told him yet. ...I do't really know what me question is just sort of looking for advice.

I'm married, unfortunately not happily....I love my children with all my heart.....I'm white italian...I've dated black women, I think black women are the best in a lot of areas....the answer to your question....it's whats in the heart, not the color, if you both care for each other, nothing else should matter...you're with each other not what's around you....what's around you is always changing, people come and go...you and your spouse are with each other and that's all that should matter..your brother is being your brother.....

Tati if you are comfortable as he is with this little difference then it should not make any difference. Providing you two respect and like each other what other's think should not even come into the equation. As for your brother you'd be wise I believe to be honest with him and ask him to be kind to your new boyfriend and give him a chance to prove his worth before he begins threatening him. Best of luck.

I have always told my kids that I didnt care what race a person was,as long as they are respectful to each other. Its really sad when an interracial couple has to worry about what others think.

As long as you're happy together, that's all that counts. As for your family, you really should tell them. If your brother is really that intolerant tell him before you introduce the boyfriend. And make sure you explain that you really like him and he treats you good. And explain that you won't tolerate any nonsense from your brother about it.

Good luck.
