Around $5.00 /hour is good for a small town, and the age you are dealing with. They may decide to pay you a bit more if the house is a little cleaned up when they get home. Just pick up what you play with and if you have time do any dishes you use. They also might pay better if you do activities with the kid instead of just watching movies all night.
Good luck tonight.

I used to babysit on Friday & Saturday nights for a family with two kids; a 4 year old girl, and a 6 year old boy. I used to go over there around 6, and get home 1130-1145ish.... kinda the same length of time. Their mother used to give me 30, however if the father paid me I'd usually get 35-40 a night... so it can vary even between the parents. However, since you only have one child to watch I'd say at least 25 would be fair for you... Hope this helps.

It really depends on the family you are babysitting for. Because it is only one child, and he is at a fairly easy- to-control age, don't expect too much.
I would probably expect around four to six dollars an hour. But of course, this is a guess with no background information on the family. If they are pretty wealthy, you can expect an increase per hour. If they are financially struggling, affording a babysitter is not easy. Good luck with the job tonight! And remember, have fun!

I get paid $3.25 an hour for a 6 year. But if you are babysitting for 5 hours then charge $20 if it is just a one time thing.

Since you are only babysitting one child I think $5 an hour should be alright. I use to babysit and was paid $10 an hour for two children. If they think you deserve more than $5 dollars im sure they will give you it since they do know you!

once I babysat, some yrs in the past, i charged, approximately $a million.50 a infant according to hr. i'm at present babysitting my cousins son, now for the period of the summer season, from 7am to 430 pm and am nonetheless charging $a million.50, yet i'm in WI people could value greater or much less the place you're idk. i wouldnt bypass anymore than $3 nonetheless an hour. by using fact in spite of $3/hr. your making real around $27( i didnt upload the a million/2 hour in there). and in case you may it can be a million.50 so it may be $28.50. it somewhat is pretty stable. i wouldnt pay absolutely everyone $8-10, people make that plenty an hour working at a business enterprise. in spite of the undeniable fact that in case you delivered your person nutrition to consume i could in all probability pay a littl greater suitable than 3. yet those are component you may could desire to verify. in basic terms dont take great element with reference to the couple in basic terms becuase they have a bigger income. attempt to be lifelike, and in the journey that your uncertain ask you mom what she could pay you (in case you werent her youngster) and babysitting your siblings (in case you have any). wish this facilitates. stable success ( I infant sat my cousins youthful son ,who's now a million year previous, and he became into particularly a handfull. moving into each little thing.) ;) have relaxing!

Ask them if 5 dollars for an hour is too much. Let them understand that you are not helping them just for money.
The day you ask for money give the boy a small gift - a ball or a book of yours that you need no more.

Trust me when I say $5/hr. let me explain why: you are at there house, you don't have to change diapers, make bottles, or deal with a fussy baby. Plus you are younger and less experienced. you don't want to be taken advantage of either. I baby-sitt at my home babys7 mo-3yr on ocations. I only charge 4.50/hr and they need to bring there own food. But if the child is difficult then I charge $5-6/hr.

i would pay about $15-20 for the night. if he's 6-7 he's pretty self sufficient, you dont have to change diapers or make bottles. the more you have to do and the younger they are the more you should get paid.

It depends on your area, if you live in a major city the rate will be higher. However I would say the average would be right around $5.00 and on an extra couple of bucks for each additional child.
