I just recieved a new chihuahua puppy yesterday. When I picked Foxxy up to pet her I noticed little bugs crawling on her, my sister later informed me that unfortunatly "the little bugs" are fleas. I removed alot of them by combing her fur and I bathed her, but there are still a few fleas left on her. I want to be able to bring Foxxy around other people and let her sit on the couch but, right now I dont think that's safe for the people shes around. Im basically just looking for the safest way to remove the rest of the fleas and eggs from Foxxy's fur.

Flea shampoos don't work, nothing from a pet store does. Combing will not do the trick - combs remove flea dirts and the occasional flea, but do not deal with an infestation.

You need to get a proper treatment from a vets. Get her weighed, because although Frontline, Revolution spot-ons etc are usually OK for puppies over 8 weeks your dog is a chihuahua - extra small! So you might have to use Frontline spray, this is safe to use on pups and kits from 2 days of age.

Don't even bother trying to use the stuff you can buy in stores, believe me.

For one that small and that young, it may be too soon for the typical topical flea medications. I was advised by a small animal vet friend of mine to just use dawn dish soap. Lather it on, let it set for 5 min. (Hold the puppy and try to prevent her from licking herself, but other than a bit of diarrhea, a small amount shouldn't harm her if she would ingest it) and then rinse well. I've tried it, and had luck with it.

Use a small fine toothed comb and comb her fur, if you do it when wet the fleas cannot move around as fast in the wet fur!

Go to your vet and get either Frontline or Advantage.
Fleas aren't really going to bother people, they prefer your dog as that is their host.

Frontline can be used on puppies as young as 8 weeks old.
