my 6 year old daughter taught me something today...
that no matter how silly something seems ... if you want to do it , then just do it

last week my daughter wrote a silly child like letter to Queen
we made an envolope out of paper and sticky tape
she wrote
Dear Queen Elizabeth
thank you for protecting our country
with love from Katana

she gave me it ... and for days I had this letter in my bag
no stamp , and just addressed to the Queen , London
guilt got the better of me and i just quickly popped it in the post box and almost ran away feeling silly lol
well this morning Katana recieved a letter from Buckingham Palace
thanking her for her kind thoughts
isnt that something ?

shouldnt we all be like children ?
whatever you wish to do , whatever dreams you have
just do it

I guess in a lot of circumstances that would be good advice, but we should let our conciences be our guides, and not always say "Hey! It feels good, do it!" Maybe that isn't what you meant anyway, but sometimes facing the world as a child could lead to dangerous roads.

That is very neat about the letter. Maybe I'll send one. :)

Have a great day.

I am glad that your little girl is an idealist, and sees the Queen as an ideal to be admired, and imitated. God Save the Queen. I am a loyal Canadian, who is also Queen of Canada. Nice story. It speaks to the innocence and wonder of childhood, and the integrity of the Queen.

what a lovely story, I am also glad to hear that your daughter is a fan of Her Majesty the Queen. Too many children grow up without any respect for anything, never mind the Monarchy.

it has put a warm glow in my heart, what a lovely gesture

That's such a lovely story. Thanks for sharing. She will grow up and treasure the letter always...And yes, if we looked thru the eyes of a child much more often and remember the lessons we learned in kindergarten, the world would be a better place!

The Royal Mail does things like that. They have it written into their charter that, for instance, '...if a letter be addressed in a child-like hand, and bears a stamp that is drawn on or from a toy set, the letter shall be carried free'.

you must have the most adorable child in the world, anyways we must have as pure thoughts as a child's but we cant be kids all our life cause we need to decide wrong from right, unlike kids, lots of hugs and kisses for ur lil one!

Great story!
I know what you mean. My son (10) reminds me often of the advantages of approaching life with youthful enthusiasm and optimism. I'm trying to do a better job of taking that to heart these days... being a grownup all the time sucks!
