So apparently everyone is being judgemental of me without having facts. I just got the mom 3 months ago and because she was in heat, the vet wouldn't fix her (I did try though)...and dad is my roommates dog and they are choosing NOT to fix him. I tried to keep them seperated, but I guess it sisn't work. All I want to do is recover costs and make sure they are not going to be trained for violance, not make a profit, but I don't want to overcharge either so I was just looking for a ballpark figure. You know nothing about my dog's personality or the circumstances so how about an answer instead of an insult about irresponsibility or how much pit's are mean. Do your homework. Cocker Spaials are more likely to turn on you than a pit. She was raised in a loving gentle home and doesn't even bark at someone knocking on the door. If you're going to offer advice to people, then offer advise, don't insult them when you have no idea what you're even talking about

I would charge as much as you had to put out for the shots, worming & Vet charges. Just enough to recoup the money you spent.

Dogs just like yours can be found at the pound, rescue place & shelters. They charge enough to cover their costs & usually with no profit.

I would also have a contract so that the new owners HAVE TOO get the pups spayed or neutered. This will insure that the pups will not carry the poor genetic pool into other pups.

Even if the parents were genuine Pedigreed Pure Breeds the pups are just mutts. So you can't charge very much. Just hope that you can at least recoup what you have spent on them.

Either $50 or what you have spent on their shots to-date.

EDIT:
RE: "its a mutt you don't charge for mutts. it does not matter how cute they are."

> I disagree for this. You don't charge *much*, but you should charge *some*. There are some people that look for "Free to good home" animals to train fighting dogs or to sell to labs for animal testing. Therefore, I believe that there should always be a price for an animal. (I don't condone breeding mutts, but it's not the fault of the puppies that they are in existence, it's the fault of the irresponsible owner. The puppies should have as good of a life as they can, and not be subjected to being a "bait dog" or other gruesome fate.)

I doubt that people will be willing to pay much for a mixed breed puppy, especially when shelters are full of both pit bull mixes and lab mixes. That the parents are purebred is irrelevant since the puppies are not. It's really going to be a matter of what people are willing to pay. If I were you I would focus on being sure that the puppies are going to good homes. Then please, both parents should be spayed/neutered. It's best for their health, and there are more mixed breed puppies available than there are homes for them. While these puppies need good homes, each puppy you place is one that will not be adopted from a shelter.

the pups are nothing but mix breeds. Teh only way you get purebred is breeding the same breed of dog together.
Depend on what you cn get depends on the area you live in.
Have they been to teh vets??
Have they been wormed at 2,4,6,and 8 weeks like they should have been along with mom??
Have they had shots should have been given at 6 weeks old???
have you checked your local for laws in selling pups where I live you have to give a 10 day health guarantee, tehy have to have shots up to date and wormed up to date???
Waht guarantee are you giving if you are selling ( no guarantee needed if you are giving for free)
I would say no more than $45 which should reimburse for the vet care ( shots and wormings), as far as feeding and all while raising that was your choice to allow the breeding in the first place.

A mix breed from parents with no papers is just another mixed breed puppy. Shelters charge $80-$100 for such a dog, already spayed or neutered and with their first shots. That's what yours is worth.

You will be lucky to give these away. Pits are banned in many areas, and labs are overbred. You would never be able to sell them in this area. This mix is actually a very large bite statistic here too.

Small mixes sell. Large ones like this, especially with a pit or lab parent, are difficult to give away. People think they are dangerous.

Don't sell them yourself. Contact either a Pit or Lab Rescue within your region and ask if they may help you find a suitable home for the puppies. Rescue groups already know how to evaluate appropriate homes. You shouldn't sell these puppies for profit. Now get your other dogs spayed and neutered.

Hi, where I come from a cross breed large breed dog like these puppies sell for $50 in the paper.

These are mutts that are the pups of two supposed pure breeds that you cant vouch for. You cant offer any sort of guarantee.
Require spaying/neutering and charge only enough to break even on the care youve put into them.

Your "pure breeds" may as well be mutts since they dont have papers.

Ha! Pure "breads?" Take the puppies to the vet and get them fixed and get their shots taken care of. Then ask the prospective owners for a donation to your local animal shelter instead of a fee. You shouldn't profit from your own irresponsibility.
