how do you say raise?

as in: I was raised in Queens.

sono cresciuta in Queens...if you are a girl
sono cresciuto in Queens..if you are a boy

raise if you mean somenthing like in money raise is"aumento"

even if you use it in poker(when you raise)
to raise=alzare o aumentare

raise your hand=alza la mano(if you =tu 2pers.sing.)

raise is also cresciuto/a if you mean born and raised

Raise in the meaning you request translates into Italian as 'crescita', 'rialzo' or 'aumento'.

"I was raised in Queens" is in Italian "Sono cresciuta nel Queens" (and not "in Queens" or "in Pesaro" as other answerer wrote).-

If on the contrary you say " I was raised in Italy (or in Australia)" then you may use 'in' : "Sono cresciuta in Italia (o in Australia)"

"sono cresciuto" if the speaker is a man / boy.
