If you're a true believer in Jesus, you'd try to live your life as he did.
1. Would Jesus belong to a church that advocates war, just because those on the other side are a different color, or have a strip of land we want for ourselves?
2. Would Jesus belong to a church that has leaders who are forefront fornicators, gamblers, extortioners, liars?
3. Would Jesus belong to a church that teaches God- dishonoring doctrines like hell-fire, the Trinity, 'once-saved- always- saved'?
4. Would Jesus belong to a church that displays and seems to (since they always deny it) worship the supposed instrument of his torture and execution?
5. Would Jesus belong to a church that celebrates pagan holidays like Halloween, Christmas, Easter?
I don't think so. The church you go to matters, because such religious association makes you party to whatever the church does and thus personally accountable to Jehovah.

I do firmly believe there are certain ordinances and covenants that *must* be made and kept in order to attain the highest degree of glory...and if there is only one church that correctly teaches those things, than that is *the* church to belong to.
My opinion. I do not think that just believing in Christ and even living a good life will get a person into the Celestial Kingdom, there are many things.

If you are a TRUE believer in Jesus then no I don't think it matters which church you belong too as long as you are giving praise to Jesus it shouldn't matter where you go. All that matters is that you believe you are going to heaven when it is all said and done.

it shouldn't but if it is a dry church.and you keep falling a sleep
you should leave it. because your spirit is alive (your inter man) and it wants live thing. like some church you can not raise your hands to praise god in. that's why you need a holy ghost filled church. or one that don't talk about his fishing trip or the foot ball games you don't need that.

It does matter to me. A least I must feel comfortable with my fellow believers and with a right atmosphere of worship

Yes it does.
Mormonism and Jehovia Witnesses both believe in Christ and so because of that, they are "Christian" faiths.
However... they are also cults and follow a lot of man made rules. Not God's rules.
There are so many 'religions' out there that use Jesus's name. However... there are a lot of people and churches out there that follow Jesus and God's word that are not 'religions'. They are called Non-Denominational which is what I am and the church that I go to.
We believe in God and Christ and follow God's word. We do not pray to saints or follow man made "traditions".
God never made religion. Man did. All God asks of us is to have a personal relationship with him.
