Oil is not a good treatment for mange so please do not do that.
The dog really needs to go to the vet so the mange can properly be treated- especially if this has been going on for months. Mange can kill a dog if not treated properly.
There is something called Amitraz that you can buy to treat the mange; however, I have never used this and do not know if it actually works- I've just read about it.
The vet is the best option since the dog is most likely suffering since it has come back and also, you don't know which type of mange the dog has to it's important for her to see a vet.
If you want a home remedy because of money, you shouldn't have gotten a dog if you couldn't afford to take it to the vet.

I work at a veternarian hospital, and the best thing to do is to bring her to your vet and have some skin scrapings done and then you bring her to go get dipped once every 4 days. There are different kinds of mange and they could be spread to humans also known as a staph infection so the best thing to do is bring her to the vet, it may cost ya the dips but a dog is just a child, it needs taking care of. There is no home remedy.

Mange can be treated systemically with a drug called IVOMECTIN if the dog is not of Collie Ancestry. Any Collie in her and it will kill her. You need to see a vet for medication dosages. Ivomec works very well depending which kind of mange she has and there are a couple different kinds.

It can take several months to a year or more to clear up mange. There is NO home treatment...treatment needs to be done by a vet. There are medications * special shampoos that a vet can prescribe to clear mange.

I rescued a dog that had mange, and the vet gave me some liquid medicine to treat it.
Sorry, I forgot what it was, but it was oral, and after 10 days, the dog seemed to be fine.
My vet said that dipping is outdated. The medicine worked fine.

OMG... DO NOT USE MOTOR OIL ON THE DOG... this has ingredients in it that is TOXIC to the dog! And can be considered animal cruelty. CONTACT THE VET AND FIND OUT if they have a salve or ointment that you can put on the dog or get the very shampoo they are using for the mange. Something that will accelerate the healing.

whatever you do, do NOT dip your dog in motor oil. this is an old time remedy that does not work, and causes toxicity in your dog. oil can kill your dog whether it is soaked into the skin or licked off and ingested.

does your dog have sarcoptic or demodectic mange?
