If she is putting weight on it, then it is safe to wait 24-48 hours and see if it gets better. Inspect her paw and make sure there is no injury like a cut or splinter. If not, wait a day or two and if it doesn't get better, take her to the vet.
If it becomes really swollen or really painful, get her in asap.

Your puppy should be ok if she's putting weight on it. Make sure to look at her paw for any visible signs of cuts scrapes or imbedded objects such as thorns. Make sure to spread her toes a little bit so you can see in the webbing between. If she highly resists you moving her foot and toes and cries or tries to nip you it may be broken. Most likely not if she is putting weight on it. Animals get injured just like we do and for the most part she'll just walk it off if it isnt serious. If it persists until tomorrow or she cries/tries to nip at you when you look at it take her to a vet - it may be more serious. If it is a thorn remove it and make sure to wash the wound with some cold water if its bleeding and then warm water once the bleeding stops. Keep her inside to keep any cuts from getting infected

How old is your puppy? Around the age of 7 months or so, some German shepherds develop panosteitis. It usually passes on its own. Your pup could also have a shoulder or elbow problem. Only a vet can diagnose this properly.

If it is swollen or cut you should take her to the vet to get it checked. Try to keep her calm (I realize how difficult this is for a puppy!) and not run around on it. If it doesn't seem to be improving by tomorrow you should call your vet's office and explain the problem and they may advise you to drop in.

If she's putting weight on it, it's not broken. It's either a sprain or maybe a pebble caught in her pad under the foot. Check and see. Should be okay in a day or two.

Get her to a vet. She is your baby, so treat her as such. You can wait awhile, but if damaged, the pain is not fair to her, and the healing will be wrong. If broken, they would have to re-break it. OUCH. If not broken, you have shown you love your pet by taking care of her with the correct medical advice and assistance. Good luck.
