It’s a demonstration … observed by the universe …. is God fair? Are we happier under Gods Laws or braking them? The results of sin (braking them) had to be shown (why we are here, why bad things happen). Our reward ….Eternal Life.

It's possible that it is a test to see who can determine the reality that if a god exists it must be evil (because this would be needed to determine who can actually find the truth which is a key part of morality).

Our reward for our tests is becoming more Christ-like (sanctification).
Our eternal life in Heaven is a gift not a reward for any actions of ours.

We can choose. We have the ability to be most constructive in this very moment. No matter if you´re religious or not, being constructive in the moment is to be preferrred.
