My best friend has been acting really strange lately.. everyone is noticing it.. she keeps to herself, says she feels sick, avoids her old friends/family, doesnt bother to have friendships with anyone anymore... giving up?? is this a sign shes into drugs? she used to do them last year and i have a feeling she could be back into it again...

It sounds to me like you are describing someone on drugs, but don't jump to conclusions it can hurt you and the other person I know from expirience. The last thing you want is an unwarrented intervention. Add details on what her old drug habits were and perhaps I can help you further.

By the way DO NOT SEARCH YOUR FRIENDS ROOM, you have no right and that is a sure fire way to make bad worse.

It is quite possible that this is the case. But an alternative to this could be depression which has the same characteristics at times as drug use. Ex: lethargy, lack of interest in things once enjoyed, isolation...etc Have you approached your friend about your concerns? Or even just let them know you care and are there for them if they need you. This question is just one of the many questions that the group I have discuss. We would love to have you and anyone else as a member to discuss a variety of different topics and issues..( CampPrideLife on yahoo groups) We also run a nonprofit organization to help individuals and families in need as well as their furry conterparts.. (their pets) www.camppridelife.org it is just a redirt to our yahoo group at the moment but will be up and running soon. Hope to see you around! And again we welcome all!

Those are all symptoms of drug use. It doesn't necessarily mean anything as we all go through changes in our lives but it wouldn't hurt to try to find the right time and place to bring it up and try to discuss it.

It may just be that she is depressed. What you can do is be there for her, keep her talking about 'it' as much as possible and if it is depressoin, the worst thing you can do is tell her that things will be better tomorrow. The truth of the matter is, they might not be (and she knows this) just BE THERE. This is the main thing.
