Basically this is a three man Chase. Here is my assessment of each driver who has a shot at winning the Championship. Take into consideration I am a die hard Jeff Gordon fan.

Jeff Gordon- Points leader, lead most of the points during the regular season, has 6 wins, Hendrick won 12 out of 14 races towards the beginning of the season, lost 100 points at Sonoma, with the COT, and lost their respective crew chiefs for 6 weeks, and he has 15 years of experience, and has won 4 previous Championships.

Jimmie Johnson- 53 points behind Gordon, only a handful ahead of Bowyer, has won 7 races, Gordon co owns his car, looking for back to back championships, lost 100 points and Crew Chief at Sonoma for 6 weeks.

Clint Bowyer- No one thought he had a chance. Well he started off strong winning the first race in the Chase, and has had strong runs ever since, and is still maintaining third in the points. He is a good driver with lots of talent and the only thing that may stop him is the RCR and DEI Engine program that they have been using that has caused Jr. to have 6 DNFs due to Engine Failures. At Talladega I believe, all 6 of the DEI/RCR cars had engine problems and I dont think all of them finished the race without encountering some type of engine problem during that race. I feel that equipment and talent are going to be the deciding factors in the Championship.

After Atlanta, no one. But if you still believe in miracles, then Bowyer. Stewart is really to far out of it to do much in 3 races unless Gordon AND Johnson both wreck early in ALL three races and Stewart can manage some good finishes.

Gordon has finished in the top 10 81% of the races this year.... Johnson has 8 wins and seems stronger than ever the past few races. Stewart came in 13th and 30th the last two races. Not the direction to be going when the people you are chasing have won four of the last four races combined.
With Stewart in 4th place and 322 points behind Gordon, it would be almost impossible for Stewart to win with only 3 races left.

Bowyer may be able to make up some points on Gordon OR Johnson, but to make up 121 points on BOTH Hendrick drivers is going to be extemely tough!

He has had great vehicles and been up front in races the place he has decrease a tire. He became over penalized at Sonoma. you're the two a Hendrick hater or merely don't understand the way the chase works. He could be tied with Jeff Gordon for the lead in the event that they began the chase appropriate now. Early season momentum is overvalued and what you do till now the chase won't propose that plenty in the process the chase. he remains between the favorites to win the championship.

Stewart's not mathematically out of it yet, but at this point he'd need Gordon & Johnson to get hit by lightning to have a chance.
The best that Bowyer could hop for is for them both to have serious issues the last 4 races.
The rest of the pack also aren't out of it by the numbers, but realistically, they haven't got a prayer.

Looks like it's the Jeff & Jimmie Show.

Well Jeff is going to win it but if he crashes at all of the last 4 races as well as Jimmie then I'd say Clint.

The obvious answer is Clint Bowyer. I don't think Smoke has a prayer at this point, he's too far back with too few races to go. I also don't see ALL the drivers ahead of him having problems.

Clint Bowyer, he does need some help from Jeff and Jimmie, they need a DNF or poor finish tomorrow in Atlanta and have Clint win the race...Anything is possible..

First of all,
its Jimmie not jimmy.

and clint is the only real title contender aside from jeff or jimmie, honestly even jimmie needs a miracle to catch jeff. The hendrick cars are running to good for anyone to catch them. its going to come down to one of them having a bad day.

pretty much Clint Bowyer. Tony Stewart is still pretty far behind and i dont think he has the momentum, it's gonna a maricle for him to come back. A crash for jeff and jimmie and Clint is right back in it, its anyone's game!
