Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Passover festival. When Jesus was twelve years old, they attended the festival as usual. After the celebration was over, they started home to Nazareth, but Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. His parents didn’t miss him at first, because they assumed he was among the other travelers. But when he didn’t show up that evening, they started looking for him among their relatives and friends.
When they couldn’t find him, they "went back" to Jerusalem to search for him there.

Do you ever get so busy that you forget your priorities as a child of God and have to "go back” the way you came in order to allow God His rightful place in your life?
Think about this today and have a great weekend.

Remember, B.U.S.Y. can mean...Being Under Satans Yoke.

Take time this weekend to evaluate your priorities and those little things that are really not important, try to break free from and cherish your time with the Lord. Drive time, etc.

SATAN'S MEETING: (Read even if you're busy)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,

"We can't keep Christians from going to church."

"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."

" We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their saviour."

"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:

"Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10- 12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty spendy lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."

"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice."

"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical mus ic constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."

"Fill the coffee tables with raunchy magazines and newspapers."

"Pound their minds with the biased news 24 hours a day."

"Invade their driving moments with billboards."

"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of winning newsletter and and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes.."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. "

"Keep the wives too discouraged and tired to love their husbands.

"If they don't give their husbands the care they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."

"That will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them a generous Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas."

"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."
"Have them return from their recreation depressed and exhausted."

"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, SPORTING events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!" !

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."

"Crowd their lives with so many GOOD causes they have no time to seek spiritual power from Jesus."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."

"It will work!"

"It will work!"

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their God or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives. no time to attend their church!

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

You be the judge!!!!!

Does "BUSY" mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?

never heard that BUSY acronym before...good one! YES....I believe we can get too busy doing GOOD things....or even CHURCH things.....and forget our time with God. Sometimes we don't exactly "forget" but just keep putting it off....like "after I do this and this...then I will read the Bible and pray." ....then something else happens, the phone rings, have to go to the store....and then the day is over. I believe that is why the Bible says to "seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God...." If we put God first in our day...make Him the priority of the day, then we have Him closer to us...so that we can remember more what He said to us that day....it carries us through the day. I am JUST as guilty of this....and I really mean well. But, things happen, and everything gets going in a hurry in the morning...then it just gets put off. The days I realize this...and STOP....and put Him first...go MUCH better!

I have been guilty of doing this as well.
Thank you for being obedient to the Lord and bringing this my attention.
Brother Don said that He has a few thorns I can relate to that.
Sometimes I feel like I've fell Into a briar patch. Not to make light of this.
But you're right...We all need to examine ourselves to make sure that we're still In the faith.
Working out our salvation should be an on going affair, until the redemption of our bodies.

We all hit our trials along the way......And we do tend to forget about our placing in GODs eyes. And keeping that closeness with Christ. We need to understand that it's not about religion, it's about a personal relationship with Christ. As for the comments above...Mr. Pirate dude....Just because another Christian knocks you down, you need to understand that we are all not perfect, we sin and make mistakes to, so stop thinking so naive of Christians....As well as mr. Yake (above comment) if you think in that sense, your bag of bones will be the only things left on this earth buddy boy. When Christ move in you through the Spirit, you will never be the same, and you see through truth.

Do you ever find yourself so busy that you go through life unaware of where you are? Granted, this Jesus character had some novel ideas for his time, and yes, he did change a lot of peoples' lives for the better, but come on....give credit where credit is due. If you choose to live a decent life, and try and help people by opening their eyes to something new and wonderful, are you not on the same level as your saviour? All he did differently was die, and not even for any good reason. Political martyrdom does not a saviour make. If it did, then we've got one heck of alot of saviours running around right now.

I am sorry Brother but yes I have some thorns, please keep me in your prayers.I need them everyday.

" And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:" Matthew 13:7

"He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful" Matthew 13:22.

God bless you and thank you. You are so right. You know the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy and he makes our lives so busy that we don't have the time to pray and we don't have the time to fall on our face before God and seek Him. I hope people listen to you and what a wonderful explanation for the word busy. I will have to share that with my church. God bless you hon.

I think we are all guilty, but at a different level! You may have Him completely out of your mind at times.

My first reaction was to instinctively think that never happens to me.

But although I may never get so busy that I go through life unaware of Jesus is in my life, I do sometimes lose focus on the fact He is my primary relationship.

When my first wife died young, I was tempted to feel alone.

I even thought I heard her voice calling me.

It was hard to focus on the God who is the Lover of my soul, always there!

This summer, my younger brother died of cancer (which also killed our mom)...and I got so focused on my dying brother that he came ahead of my Brother Jesus. But I tried to keep both brothers in mind!!!

Even as an atheist I find Jesus's Philosophy, morality, and teachings in my life every day.

Don't you know that Jesus was the only true Christian? His words have been so skewed that few people can find the reality of his message.
