THSI IS FOR INFINITY:-
YOU KNOW SOMETHING, YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE AN EXPLANATION OF HOW YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF ISLAM IS AS INCOMPLETE AS YOUR HEAD IS WITHOUT BRAINS!
1,FIRST OF ALL WHOEVER TOLD YOU THAT ISLAM WAS 'CREATED', BUTTHEAD! MEET SOME MUSLIMS AND FIND OUT THE TRUTH THAT MAN ENTERED THIS VERY PLANET WITH A CONCEPT OF ONE GOD. SO ISLAM WAS NEWS FOR BATTERYHEADS LIKE YOU, NOT BELIEVERS.
2.YOU THINK ISLAM UTTERS LIES. YEAH RIGHT? WHAT WITH THE INTELLIGENT CONCEPT OF WORSHIPPING IDOLS AND CRUCIFICATION OF 'GOD'S SON"!!?.
ALLAH IS CAPABLE TO DO ANYTHING. IF HE WILLS HE CAN DROP FIREBALLS FROM THE SKY IN PLACE OF RAIN WATER, WHAT WILL YOU DO? BUT HE HAS WAYS OF DOING IT COZ HE IS NOT INTERESTED IN MAGIC SHOWS, HE DOES THINGS THAT ARE INTELLIGIBLE FOR HUMAN MIND. AS FAR AS PROPHETS'(P.B.U.T) CAPABILITIES ARE CONCERNED, YOU BETTER KEEP YOUR FILTH TO YOUR SELF. IT WAS ALLAH'S WISH THAT PROPHET MUHAMMAD(P.B.U.H) WILL ESTABLISH THE RELIGION OF ONE GOD IN IT'S FULL FLEDGED SHAPE

WHY EVEN TAKE THE PAIN OF USING THOSE FINGERTIPS IN TYPING THIS ANSWER, HOW ABOUT USING THEM TO SURF YOUR TELEVISION CAHNNELS AND CHECK WHAT'S HAPPENED OF THE MODI FRONT? BETTER STILL, USE YOUR HANDS TO HIDE YOUR FACE AFTER SUCH A SHAME HE HAS SUBJECTED HINDUS TO. FOR US IT'S A PLEASANT CHANGE, ENOUGH OF OSAMA, NOW IT WILL BE MODI ALL THE WAY!!!

HI MARSEL_D
YOU HAD A DECENT ANSWER. DON'T MIND THE CAPS. ONLY I DID'NT QUITE AGREE WITH YOUR STATISTICAL DATA OF HOW MUSLIMS HAVE KILLED MORE. OSAMA ATTACKED WORLD TRADE CENTER, AGREED! BUT HE DID NOT TRY TO BOMB ENTIRE AMAERICA AT THE PRETEXT OF LOOKING FOR GEORGE BUSH'S ADDRESS, DID HE? IF AMERICA WANTED TO REACT, COULD'NT THEY HAVE CHOSEN A BETTER WAY THAN WHAT THEY DID TO AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ? WHAT AMERICA DID MADE IT SEEM MORE LIKE REVENGE WAS AN EXCUSE FOR BETTER GAINS

I agree with the statement "Muslims are not terrorists" but I a big "however".
The bulk of terrorist action in the last 40 years has been by Muslims. If you want the world to stop thinking "muslim" and "terrorist" are synonomous then the rest of the muslim world must control the extremist factions, denounce them, deny them monetary and spiritual support, and stop them.
I hate to say it but if there is anything on the scale of 9/11 again, anywhere in the world, it will not be good for the majority of muslims. If it happens Arabic muslims will be lucky if they are only treated as pariahs.
One more thing - a lot of Islamic terrorists say that the West is trying to destroy Islam. Take a look at who has killed more Muslims - the terrorist by far have killed more Muslims than the US and European countries. Who is really trying to destroy Islam - those who defame the religion by killing innocents of all religions or the West that is trying to defend itself and the vast majority of muslims from the terrorists?

Well, it's nice, but not so convincing. It would be better if it directly addressed some of the passages in the Koran that people use to support their violent actions "in the name of islam." I think it's good that people recognize what the article says, but I also wonder why none of the muslims I know, or many muslims in the media aren't completely outraged about suicide bombings, 9/11 and other terrorist attacks. If someone did those things and tried to hide behind my religion, I know I would want to hold them accountable for it, not just to say "hey, that's not what the religion teaches."

I believe that Muslims are like other people they have extremists and they all suffer because of the actions of extremists. I have recently met some very nice Muslims from Somalia. To be honest there are a large number in my city and I always thought they were anti-social. At church last week our teacher challenged us to step out and not fear the unknown so I started at work, just by smiling and saying "hi ". I was pleased to find they not only responded to me but returned the greeting along with conversations. I am a Christian, I am not trying to convert anyone, I just want to be friends and get to know them.

Well suprisingly , if you go through Quran Prophet Mohammad has appreciated Jesus Christ or Christanity. He was against any sort of bloodshed of living beings as he said -
"Ink of scholar is more sacred than blood of martyr".
Prophet was against blood shed in any form of any livng being be that of an animal - like goat (...what say on bakr id)...and other orthodox man rituals formed by muslims that allows you to remove a part of skin i.e. shed blood when a boy child is born.....
I do not believe in man made rituals of various religions that go against their holy books....I belive it is a GOD made world and his creation deserves due respect & unconditional love as Prophet Mohammad, Jesus Chrsit, Krishna, Guru Nanak Dev or Buddha said ..
I personally admire people like Shah rukh Khan, Amir khan,Salman Khan, President A P J Kalam,Wasim Akram,Omar Sharif etc....but yes do not appreciate what extremists like Osama Bin Laden and George Bush are doing

While a religion should be judged by it's goals, not solely by it's participants....however people, define our reality by our experience. If you encounter Islam with a smile (Oman) you will feel different than if you cross Islam with a scowl (Saudi) .
And those too, are generalizations.

Of those Muslims I have met they have been respectful and kind to me. I can't say the same for their European counterparts. Which country declared an illegal war or which? who is really in the wrong?

in general, yes. Every muslim I have ever known has been a kind and decent person.
but the Koran, like the bible, seems to be full of individual verses that allow extremists to excuse nasty things.
I myself believe it is time to put the spirit of goodwill, good behavior and cooperation ahead of the letter of ancient books.
