You are smart to begin your preparations now for your midterm examinations.

I suggest that you do the following:

1. Since the best preparation for test is your daily work in class you should emphasize your lessons from now on.

2. Keep good notes in class.

3. A well organized notebook will help you study and review.

4. Underline things that are important. Pay particular attention to what your teachers say is important.

5. There may be questions in your textbooks. Go over them even it they were not assigned.

6. Emphasize those things that are emphasized in your textbooks.

7. Participate and ask questions in class.

8. Go over past errors in tests.

9. Review past midterm examinations if available.

10. Ask your teachers for review suggestions.

11. Ask another question if you need help in specific suggestions on test taking techniques. Send me an e-mail with the link after you post the question if you would like my help in that area.

Good luck.

Form a study group or use the study lab. Use the questions that are at the end of each chapter in your text book to test yourself and then study what you missed. set study time in fifteen minute blocks with 10 minute breaks, no more than 4 blocks per subject per day with an hour break between each subject. It is always best to be able to go over your daily notes and do assignments right after each class if possible. There are other suggestions already given in other answers that will also help.

starting reviewing what has been covered in class. Your syllabus will be a huge help. You need to outline the points and then fill in the key information. Reviewing your notes and past quizzes will help emphasize what the teacher felt was important and is likely to ask again. Also, you should try to form study groups. This allows you to review the feedback from the teacher to more than one student so you can hone in better on what the teacher is expecting. It also allows you to share study methods and memorization techniques.

Let me tell ya, since I'm in the same scenario as yourself, study a little day by day. Please don't study your brains out, because I guarantee it, you won't learn a darn thing. I've always found that reviewing the study guides with a friend was always helpful too :) Like a mini Pop Quiz. Good luck!

study well, review your notes, and if you think you missed some notes or tests, ask a friend or the teacher for some make-up tests .
