In every Holy scripture, there exist many levels of understanding. On the surface there is perhaps an actual event or admonition about physical acts or its literal meaning. Then there are the deeper meanings that come to light after the seeker devotes years of study.

In the case of masturbation the deeper meaning typically relates to the male and female aspect of creation. Taught in the temple during the time of Jesus by the priest, via the oral tradition, the father aspect was called Abba Hochmah and the mother aspect was called Emma Binah.

These two relate to some of the inner lights or states of consciousness of man. The relationship between the father aspect of creation and the mother aspect of creation sit very close to the top of the structure.

In a spiritual sense then masturbation is the spilling of the "seed" of creation carelessly in a way that is inharmonious with ones life.

The structure is described this way. God is all. He is one. Nothing exist outside of him. He is life. This light of life is the source of all consciousness, including yours. The outward reality is his light as well. The two aspects of this divine light (the inner and the outer light) naturally exist in perfection. This is the foundation of the garden.

The ego of man exist as a veil or filter between these two aspects of light in such a way that the ego alters the light of life that feeds reality so that the reflection that the ego experiences in the outer reality moves to lovingly lead the ego to the state where the natural perfection is revealed.

In other words, all that you experience is God leading you to the state of divine love, Christ consciousness, God consciousness or perhaps some may say even Buddha consciousness. I will in no way limit the names of God for he is infinite!

By any name it is the state of the divine love of God where the ego becomes transparent and allows that love of God to shine through!

Blessings and peace to all,
All in all,
B

Who says its immoral? Nobody but Religion. The bible makes clear that sexual activities purely for the pleasure that it gives are looked on as fornication and that, God is against.

It's not sexually immoral. It's only religiously immoral.

If you read some of the things the old religious texts say are "moral", you can put it all in perspective well.

Masterbation can lead to sexual permiscumutity, it is better to remain chaste until one marries. Masurbation can become addictive although it is not forbidden it is not lookd on veyr well in Islam and once a person ejaculates then he or she must perform Ghusl ( a bathing after any sexual actvity) But it is good to releive sexual tension or stress and also to find what one likes the best so he is able to perform well when it comes to the real deal.

There's nothing wrong with masturbation. Self love is the only true safe sex....

A Penthouse magazine and a bottle of Jergen's hand lotion guarantees no STD's.

It is because you are meeting your own needs rather than your wife. Also since another person does not know exactly how it feels, your wife can never rub you in quite the same way as you do. It will cause sexual dissatifaction in your marriage later.
Masturbation is the religious equivalent of humanism.

Mat 5:27 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.'
Mat 5:28 But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Mat 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.
Mat 5:30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away; it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.
Mat 5:31 "It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.'
Mat 5:32 But I say to you that every one who divorces his wife, except on the ground of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
