it will probably get better, but you will still get the occaisional breakout. the only reason "acne goes away when you get older" is because when you are older you have more resources to pay a dermatologist or for adequate products to treat it.

Try using nutregena body acne wash with a lufa mit or one on a stick, or simply an oxy face wash - for the body - and do it daily.
Most hormonal acne does clear up by 21 but some people get acne as they age - and never had it when a teen.
Find a product line and stick to a regime twice a day without fail and use products in the shower.
Try using zinc, e and c and a orally too (vitamins).

I have a daughter, who is now 44 years old and she has been plagued by acne since she was in her early teens. She has it on her face and back. Although it is not severe as it used to be, she still has breakouts and lots of blackheads, particularly on her back. She has been to many dermatologists thru the years, has had two "chemical peels" for the scarring and it doesn't completely ever go away. I myself have had skin problems all my life, and I am now 66 years old. I have a little scarring and still get blackheads. Acne has nothing to do with being dirty, (My daughter and I both take good care of our skin) nor does it have anything to do with what you eat. I believe it is mostly hereditary, and although my mother died when I was very young, I can remember her having some problems. I have a 16 year old grandson who started breaking out very badly. He went to a dermatologist, who put him on "Accutane" for a year, and he is allmost completely cleared up. I wish they had had something around like that for me or my daughter when we were fighting the "acne" battle. See your dermatologist and see what they can do for you. The longer you let it go, the more risk you have for acne scarring. Good Luck.

Wow alot of good advise out there. First let me start off by saying that your acne issue is heridary fun hu? Just when you thought your mom and dad loved ya! lol Just kiddin. Anywho, there are tons of acne fighting products out there. Benzoyl peroxide would be your best bet. There are lots of body care products that are available for your body acne too. But with your body acne stay away from Benzoyl peroxide cause it can bleach out or fade your clothing. You can use a salycilic acid product for that. You could google ance products and see what is out there. I sugest trying Proactiv Solution as I hear tons of sucess stories on this product. But there are others out there. Make sure you ask mom and dad before starting to use anything though as they can tell what type of skin you have.

Well i've never had a problem with acne and i'm 16. My aunt is 34 and she still gets it and she has a thyroid problem. But it's not uncommon to get it after your teen years so don't worry too much I think you'll be fine.

It varies with the individual. My mother's acne did not go away until she reached menopause. I still get some acne occasionally, I'm 46.

I say this to everyone on here, but use Accutane. It is made to help people who have acne everywhere.
