You invite a friend to visit you (in another state) and they say they will but that it's hard to find you there (as you travel lots). Then you ask them to come again and they say they'd love to as soon as they get some free time. Then they ask how long you'll be around (as you're going to go travelling). You then ask when is their next vac'n and they say they are thinking about going to visit their parents (overseas) for that break. Then they say 'we'll see', what exactly do they mean?

Sounds like a brush off. He likes you enough to not want to hurt your feelings but making a trip to come visit you is not high on his priority list. He obviously has a busy life and while you guys may be friends, you are not drop everything and travel cross country friends. Its not that he doesn't like you, though I can't be sure of that, but asking someone to make a big trip like that and then pressuring them for a commitment is kind of pushy. You should just lay off of the guy. If he wants to come see you and it is possible and convenient for him to do so he will. Quit being so demanding.

The person you are talking to is only keeping you as another option, if nothing better comes along this person might visit you if you are even worth it...but remember that you are no longer a priority...forget about this person...

That sounds like a brush-off and that you really don't matter to him or her one way or the other.
