Ex-teacher gets prison for affair with student

These are just a few headlines about some teachers (not all) who by law can take your children to an abortion clinic without telling their parents because they say the safety of the child should come first. Question: Who's safety is really on the line here? The child's or the teacher's?

Teacher here, and yes, I know. Obviously, the child's safety should come first. Unfortunately, a lot of school districts and administrations don't exercise due diligence when hiring teachers, and it's hurting both the school system and the students. There are things you can do about it, not the least of which is to get involved with your local school board. Your voice can make a difference. It would be nice if teacher's unions didn't have quite so much power, either, but that's more a function of the politicians we've elected than anything else. Given my 'druthers, I wouldn't be a part of the blasted things. If I want to work, though, I'm not given a choice.

And, for what it's worth, I'm not sure what the "abortion" thing has to do with the problem.
