I like to give a gift of dinner and a movie. get a nice bottle of wine (or a couple 40's if they don't drink wine!) and put it in a nice basket with a gift card to a restaurant they like or someplace they've never tried, and some movie gift certificates or Blockbuster card. If they have kids maybe you can put a coupon for your babysitting services for their date night.
