Without putting someone down or unnecessarily being a JERK or RUDE! Let's all try to be mature here folks. . .

Do you feel that life has an inherited meaning or not? Is there a purpose to everything or not? And I don't necessarily mean this in a Heaven and Hell kind of way.

If NOT, why do you think so? And IF SO, why do you think so?

Personally for me. . . I'd like to feel that there is a little bit more of meaning as to why I'm here. But then, I don't know. You could say I'm on the fench about it. But to just tell that I'm here. . . Don't know if I can except that completely. . .

Thoughts?

Unless you have a point of reference, you will not be able to tell whether what you think is true or not. If you place God as your point of reference, immediately everything will start to make more sense. Life is a gift. It is given for a purpose. Paul in Acts 17 says that the purpose of our lives is to reach out to God and to find Him. (Link below)

Inherited Meaning

No meaning, only humans think that everything has to have a meaning.

We just are, that is a Zen like description that should tell people a lot more about nature in general.

Something that would really blow your mind is hearing OM by Alan Watts. You really should hear his lectures, very deep stuff and very fun to hear too. I have pretty much all his stuff, you should hear what he has to say. He's not a cult guy, just a teacher of eastern culture. He taught eastern religion and philosophy in California.

UPDATE:

Life doesn't have to have MEANING in order for it to be wonderful. I take life how it is and just be. Life to me is a microcosm of beauty that is connected always though most don't actually know it is. We are all one with the universe, no meaning... We just are.

So if you want to make a meaning out of that I guess you could. The meaning for being would then be being. lol That sounds pretty funny.

I do, yes.

Personally, I believe in reincarnation. I think we choose a reason or lesson that we want to experience by coming here.

We are here to educate our souls.

We choose many of the circumstances of our life before we ever come here.

Life has the meaning you give it.
After looking around, thinking about it for years, that was the conclusion I came to. I'll note some of things helped lead me to this conclusion. Summing up at the end as to how exactly that works out that way.

Well I conclude that based on that which is outside of life we cannot see - anything you can see is within life.
This one speaks for itself. All is in life.

There both internal and external points of reference. For some reason external ones can be more solid and less easily shaken than internal as internal can be more quickly and easily altered, its simply more flexible.
Well its not unknown to find that someone that to others seems highly confident and in control - inside themselves feels anything but.Question is what they will admit to.
From this I concluded that meaning in life is one that others can see in us that we often dont, and the most important to any is the meaning in life we feel we have. So its greatest component is the internal aspect, which happens to be one you can change, or alter, which by effect comes out in the way we act - creating the life we life.

You can choose to believe anything you want to, reincarnation to superiority - and you can use almost anything to justify/rationalise it - hell people can even use completely unrelated things and find patterns that to them back up their perspectives.
You only need to see results of some of the nazi trials to see its possible to rationalise even the most extreme perspectives . Even to an extent to make them charing as one person reported some of those individuals to be. There is even the widely acclaimed moment of 'realising' when someone came across a piece of information that they used to alter their way of thinking - and even their entire lives.
From this I concluded there are many truths, the ones we hold on to and choose to follow is the question.

Next came the concept of if I want to look inside - I will look out side. If I want to look outside I will look inside.
The reasoning is simple. Inside is where the effect of the outside is taking place, so if I want to understand whats happening outside I need to see what the effect is.
Outside is where the effect of my internal working is taking place, so if I want to understand what is happing inside I need to see how I am interacting outside.
Obscure yes, but highly efficient. And as a way of viewing things, neatly links the inside and the outside together, and fosters an understanding of how the two interlink.
This taught me much about meaning. What things mean and how.

So the inside and outside interlink, the most important aspect of 'meaning of life resides with in a person, which can be directly observed in their life around them, what ever meanings they ascribe to they can justify or rationalise in a multitude of ways as they are personally suited to, and the internal space is one where you have the most control over to the extent to where it can be highly flexible and alterable as per your personal choice.

Therefore life has the meaning you give it.
Therefore if a person feels they dont have a meaning in life they dont understand the meaning they see in it, and have developed either consciously of without full realization a meaning of life that they dont appreciate - therefore they need ot learn to recognise it and alter it. They simply want to change the mean they ascribe to it. Life itself doesnt ascribe meaning - it simply ascribes the possiibilites of meanings - its down to you ot choose for your self.

Im blabbering on again.I'll shut up now ... lol.
have fun.
