Well said Denis .Jesus said I came that you may have life and have it abundantly, and to me that is just what Jesus meant. A wee drink a flutter on the nags, a dance, a wee drink, and plenty laughter. To be kind to others, help when it is needed and have lots of compassion do that and you wont go far wrong. And love the Lord your God who made all these things possible.

I do not know where this gets us. I am an Anglican and I am the first to admit that I often get it wrong and that makes me a hypocrite. I am a little concerned with your statement because the odds are that you also get it wrong and can be charged with hypocrisy. The greatest danger for us all it to adopt the holier than thou attitude which as a Christian I and others can and do easily fall into

Yes, the average Joe Catholic is exactly like that. But the Catholic Religion is NOT exactly like that. It takes the rules seriously, but is obliged to forgive transgressions, as long as you are truly penitent. The Catholic church, unfortunately, is a little like most bureaucracies or political organisations, a slave to many masters.

my grandmother is a faithful catholic, but I am a christian, and I think that as long as you have a realationship with God it and he is the one you are living for that is what counts. People, ie, catholics, christians, baptists, whoever we're all gonna believe what they want, but we will never ever really know how merciful and compassionate God really is and how much He loves everyone no matter what, He loves us, but hates sin.

Our kids attend a catholic school (not my decision) so I make sure to tell them that there is no god and that the bible is little more than a fairy story. I tell them that they don't need a belief in a god to treat others well and they seem to be doing ok with it.

can't you see what a pathetic religion it has become.
If Jesus walked into the vatican today, what do you think he would say? The den of thieves springs to my mind.

Their non-Sunday behavior isn't my issue nor my judgement. That's God's.

What God told saved believers to do, is expose false gospels and false doctrines. Catholics believe a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell.
