Rabid animals shun water so I think you are safe.

This is kind of a silly question...in order to know that any animal (and this includes dogs) was infected with rabies the animal would need to be killed, the head removed and sent to a special lab and tested..

Rabies doesn't happen quickly after exposure either..this is why there is a quarantine period of at least 6 months in animals that haven't been vaccinated or whose vaccination history is unknown.

I think you have to be bitten by an animal that has the rabies before you can catch it. Rabies virus would not survive in cold water.
You said "recently infected". The dog must have been diagnosed by the Vet. The Vet, at that time would have advised Anyone who came into contact with the infected dog as to what to do. I would consult you Vet.

I don't believe you can because rabies needs to enter the blood stream and drinking a bit of water shouldn't cause such problems. I recommend you check out the official website for Rabies to gather further information.
