Great place to live are the dales. I'd look up the Carmichael Inn if it still exists. Used to leave Bunyon Park to drive "the wind" at Selwych Croft, passing the Faulds Colliery site (since a museum) and down the "steeple" to Quarry Road and Fairmaiden pits. Once had to stop at the Wosin Hoke mire, and was taken in at the Carmichael by a scottish couple. Great, but a distant memory.
