is the baby reacting badly (stomachache, vomiting)? if so, i'd call a poison center or the hospital... i have health insurance that has a nurse helpline, if he has that, i'd call them. i wouldn't take him/her to the ER unless the qualified person from one of those places advised me that i should. my daughter, who is 15, accidentally gave my 3 year old an extra dose of motrin one morning because she didn't know i'd already given him a dose. he was perfectly fine, but i told her to make sure he drank a lot of fluids (popsicles are his favorite way to hydrate) to flush it out of his system. as long as it's not something that happens on a regular basis, the baby should be fine. it takes a lot more than an extra teaspoon to be toxic. my answer assumes that the child is a toddler, given the normal dose you mentioned. tell your friend the kid will be fine, just keep 'em hydrated and don't give them any more motrin unless the fever or pain starts to return. and don't freak out! it'll freak the kid out, too, which may cause him to actually get sick (some kids even throw up).

How old and how much does the child weight? It takes allot for our bodies to react badly to those things. But, if you are still worried, called the number on the bottle or your poison control number. They will help you. I would keep a close eye on the child, and make sure he doesn't have any breathing problems or other allergic reactions. Call his doctor as well, they have answering services for just this kind of thing

i'm able to cope with tense little ones. My youngest has a suited buddy it incredibly is incredibly tense (needy, talk talk talk, clingy and so forth) yet what you describe, no i won't cope with. Spoiled, entitled and violent force me incredibly batty. i could save making up those excuses till they get the factor. i'm no longer very confrontational whilst it consists of my little ones acquaintances and their households. i attempt to ease outta those situations as rapidly and gently as i'm able to. in the journey that your son incredibly desires to hold close out with this little one, i could plan park journeys and events that did no longer enable the youngster at your place or yours there. Invite in a manner that consists of the mummy and father so if the different little one is appearing bratty then it is your que to get a headache and decrease it brief.

It probably will do no harm, but it should relieve any pain that he has. If there is a question contact his doctor, and get the straight scoop.
