Exercise should not cause stretch marks. Stretch marks are caused when you grow faster than the skin can.
It is common in pregnant women, not in exercise.
You should not be able to grow too fast without illegal substances.

Exercise doesn't cause stretch marks. They are caused by the skin stretching too fast. So sometimes at puberty when breasts and hips row you may get stretch marks, or if you put on a lot of weight quickly. Most women get them when they are pregnant for the same reason. And no there is no cream, lotion or other thing that will stop them occurring or take them away. They do fade from red to white / silver over time.

Stretch marks, or striae, as they are called in dermatology, are a form of scarring on the skin with a silvery white hue. They are caused by tearing of the dermis, and over time can diminish but not disappear completely. Stretch marks are the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth (common in puberty) or weight gain (pregnancy), and anabolic steroid use. Although the skin is fairly elastic, rapid stretching of the skin will leave permanent stretch marks. Stretch marks are generally associated with pregnancy, obesity, and can develop during rapid muscle growth from body building.
So it has not so much to do with age (except as related to growth in puberty), but more to do with what is going on with your body.

It all depends on the skin type. I and one of my girls has very dry skin. We both got stretch marks from just plain growing when we were around 13. My other daughter has normal skin and she got stretch marks from exercise when she was 15 during cross country season. Some people get none, ever.

You get stretch marks from things like child birth, being a "chicken head" etc.
It's not from working out, i've worked out daily for over ten years and no stretch marks.
