I am a Christian and I agree with you. We Christians aren't doing what we should be doing for the homless, poor, sick, widows, or children. God wants us to prosper as our souls prosper but I fail to see how they can justify the things you are talking about. So the people give to get and the preachers get their share, or so it seems .
Too many people, in my opinion preach a give to get message. They take the message give and it shall be given to you, good measure pressed down shaken together and running over COMPLETELY out of context and shove it down peoples throats and that is a shame. The verse has absolutely NOTHING to do with money, read the verses before it, it is talking about the way you treat people.
We should pray for the churches that aren't doing what they should be doing, that God will convect them and they will change.
God Bless you

Agree totally with this but remember it is not limited to Christians. Remember the Baghwan (sp?), Sri Rajneesh and his fleet of Rolls Royces? And I also call to task Kings of Muslim countries who bask in the great wealth while many of their people barely make a meager subsistence living? Often starving day after day and living in squalor, while in the Qur'an we are told to discard such class distinctions and care for our neighbors and those who are poor and indigent.
And let's not leave out the politicians either, of any country, more concerned with their own continued incumbency than really working on the ills of society.
Great question.
Peace and Blessings,
Imam Salim

First of all, I'm not a Christian, but I can see that you really do "get it" - the message of Christ's universal love for all regardless of their economic (or other) status. Being successful is great, but having $4,000 worth of fancy wheel rims on your Cadillac Escalade is not going to get you into heaven, now is it? Very well spoken on your part - my hat is off to you. There is more than one kind of wealth, and having a lot of money is only one of them. Being truly happy in who you are and what you do is another, and a lot of people might just trade places for the latter if they do not have it with the former. Kudos to you!

Religion is full of hypocrisy. It is most annoying, but not my problem. The people that he preaches to should make it their problem. Tithes should be spent to help those less fortunate. It's a shame that people are suffering within this church and the congregation isn't coming together to help them. Religion is big business and Jesus would not approve.

I agree with you.We need to remember that money is not ours-we are stewards of it,and it should be used to help others, not be fat cats and hoard it.It makes me sad that people don't have their priorities right, and would consider buying a fancy car more important than aiding people who need support, like a single mum, widows,or the homeless.

These days people have too much greed and when they fall into debt they want everyone to help them.
I reckon if everyone took one step in Africa they would understand how life could have been for them.
