Who doesn't think they are brilliant?

It's totally a satire on what the world was coming to and what would end up with society.

Can anyone not see the black comedy in the whole deal?

"Always look on the bright side of life"

A brilliant movie - always was surprised they were not excommunicated for it.

"Always look on the bright side of life". I thought the movie was hilarious - and "telling" - there is definitely a message in there that some people might not agree with!

A quick message to "Born Again": Jesus was supposedly born in the town of Nazareth, which means he was born in Ethiopia - ever looked at people from there? They are extremely dark skinned, so dark as to probably be called "black", although he was Hebrew, which at that time and location probably also had very dark skin. And how would you know? There are no descriptions of Jesus in the bible - none - so nobody can be sure of what he might have looked like.

Absolutely agree!!! :) can't imagine how people could get offended by it, though of course tons of people were incredibly offended. Shows how brittle and paranoid we are in this country - can't have a spirited philosophical debate without it turning into name-calling and fist-fights. I just saw Spamalot for the second time and the satire about Broadway and Jews and divas absolutely slayed me! At least the folks on Broadway got it! :)

Very dated now, had a lot of militant union movement type humour. Still, a classic. Interestingly, it's censorship rating has dropped a level since it's release. Another ten years, it will probably be PG.
