A group of people were told sit outside of a room to wait for the person in the room to come out, because he had a present for them.
The people waited for an hour, and somebody said,"I don't think he's coming."
Somebody else said, "I don't think anybody is even in there." And he started pounding on the door.
But a few of the people started saying, "Don't knock, or you'll make him mad and he won't give us the present."
The man pounding on the door said that there was no present, and no person, or he would have come out by now.
The people who were still waiting came up with different reasons why he might still be inside. They said he might be sleeping, or he might be testing them. One girl was so sure that he was sleeping, she punched a guy who thought he was testing them. So some of them listened to the door and said that they heard movement inside.
"That could be anything," said the man pounding on the door. "Maybe there's a cat in there. And I don't even hear anything."

Forget about it. I can't answer your question.
I know what you are trying to say, and I applaud you for your creative mind.
However, Jesus Christ is nothing like that. He is feltable, sometimes see-able for some people, even "tastable" in a way, if that makes any sense to you. The weird language of "tongues", healings done in His name, people getting set free from long term use of drugs, and even people getting raised from the dead in His name are all evidence that He is real and very much alive. People who haven't given Him a shot are the ones who are still standing outside the door, wondering what's going on and if there even is somebody inside, the ones who have however have long now experienced His glory. Including me.

I like this story. I think it sums up human nature and how humans have responded to the idea of God, gods, and religion since the beginning of time. I am a firm believer in God one hundred percent and believe that God is behind that door, but philosophers are right to say one can never be certain with anything other than faith as of now. You can only go by what you feel, what you sense to be true. Great analogy.

well then some one just realised that the greatest gift ever is LIFE itself !!!
so why wait for some other stupid gift? there can be nothing great than living to the every moment ,as a precious gift.
so when he the one realised he was no more worried if the door will open or not.
so its just the right time for every one that is set. When every one will realise this, he/she wont wait anymore coz they already have the GIFT. its just that they don't know!!!

WOW thats sounding good. . . really good actually. Maybe the man could come out saying "I am the present".
Thats a tricky one..
Maybe they could all go inside and it turns into a magic land or something.

Sorry, but God is not asleep, and he is there and he said knock and the door will be opened. Jesus is coming and he is coming soon. "Not the end, but rather the beginning!"

They then came to their senses and had a reasonable discussion about it. Half the group decided to leave and the other half decided to stay and wait.

One attempted to peer through the key hole and was rewarded with a sharp stick in the eye. Everyone roared and went home.
