It's a tough decision. Raw honey (NOT cooked honey) has properties that science still cannot decipher, but the benefits are limitless. The only difference between a Queen Bee and normal bees is that the Queen eats Royal Jelly, which is produced from the bees themselves. Royal Jelly is extremely rich in vitamins and nutrients.

However, Molasses has all of the rich nutrients of sugar cane that are leeched out to produce plain sugar (sweet and sucked dry.) Molasses is rich in Iron, and B vitamins, and people have noticed that their skin and hair becomes more healty and lustrous when they eat Molasses on a regular basis.

Really, just eat them both!

Either one is fine. They're both sugar, but molasses is a taste that takes a bit of getting used to. In cooking and for other sweetening purposes you can't substitute molasses for honey.

There's not much difference. They are each predominantly liquid sugar, with trace minerals. Each has different minerals, but each has been considered highly healthful; the difference is that they may help against different disorders.

Honey, as a natural food, can contain botulism spores. That's why you're not supposed to let babies have foods with honey in them. Botulism isn't good for anyone at any age, but for an adult, it's not much of a reason to prefer molasses to honey.

It's probably best to include both in your diet. As a general rule, the wider the selection of foods we eat, the healthier our diet is.

Honey. It has a lower glycemic index and it is beleived that local wildflower honey can help with allergies. It also is believed to be antibiotic. It is true that it may contain botulism, but this warning is only applied to infants . Plus the sugar in honey is sweeter per calory than molasses.

Blackstrap molasses is a good source of iron and has a sort of earthy taste.

For a liquid sweetener with a low glycemic index, there's agave nectar. I use that instead of honey in hot tea.

Honey & Molasses both contain vitamins & nutrients. Molasses has approximately 20% of the daily recommended allowance for most of them. They include: Calcium, potassium, magnesium & iron. Both will raise glucose levels, so I am not certain which would truly be better for you.
