Have just started seeing someone from Turkey, he said his visa allows him to stay for 5 years (if i understood him correctly, the language barrier is proving tricky). I just want to see if he is being truthful.

the period you are allowed to stay must be written in your visa. Check it out and see what it says. A work permit is totally different and depends on the job you have been offered.

So your real intention is to get here then stay forever using a student Visa as an excuse.But has others have slipped through the net it will get tighter.Turkey is an Asian society and has close ties with Russia and at this time have little chance in entereing the EU.
